Shane Mulholland Memorial Tournament

Cavan GAA host an U21 Intercounty hurling tournament in memory of Shane Mulholland who tragically died last year. Shane was Cavan GAA hurling development administrator at his untimely passing.

Originally from Loughgiel, Co. Antrim, Shane lived in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh and was a prominent member of the Fermanagh Senior hurling team.

It was as an underage coach that Shane will be remembered and truly missed. His passion, enthusiasm and energy left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate to have met him or were coached by him.

Longford, Monaghan, Fermanagh and Cavan take part in the tournament giving the U21 players and managements meaningful games ahead of their upcoming All Ireland competitions in July.

All money raised from the tournament will go to ‘The Shane Mulholland Foundation’ which was founded by Shane’s family in his memory to help continue his great work of underage Gaelic games development.

The competition begins this Saturday 28th 7.30pm with Cavan taking on Longford in Kingspan Breffni 3G and Fermanagh playing Monaghan in Fermanagh. Round 2 and 3 games are fixed for Saturday 4th June and Fri 10th June with the final to be played on Friday 17th June in Cavan.
