Cavan Healthy Clubs Attend National Conference at Croke Park

Healthy Club Committees from a number of Cavan GAA clubs attended the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Conference in Croke Park on Saturday, 10 October.
Coinciding with World Mental Health Day, the conference focused on “Brain Health: Connection, Conversation & Community”, highlighting the important role GAA clubs play in promoting mental wellbeing, social connection and healthier communities.
A highlight of the day was a Gaelic Games player panel featuring Dublin footballer Carla Rowe, Galway hurling great Joe Canning and recently retired Mayo All-Ireland winner Cillian O’Connor. Expert-led presentations and interactive workshops also provided valuable insights into a range of health and wellbeing topics.
Workshop themes included mental health and mental fitness, healthy eating, men’s health and dementia-inclusive clubs.
The conference offered attendees an opportunity to share ideas, learn from experts and explore practical ways to further develop the Healthy Clubs initiative within their own communities.
Cavan GAA would like to acknowledge the commitment of its Healthy Club volunteers, whose work continues to help make our clubs more inclusive, supportive and welcoming for everyone
