Cavan GAA, Cavan LGFA, and Cavan Camogie Association, announce historic Memorandum of Agreement for facilities.
The Cavan Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Cavan Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA), and Camogie Association are proud to announce a landmark Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in relation to the Development of The Polo Grounds Centre of Excellence and the usage of all facilities at Kingspan Breffni.
A working group was established to meet and agree a Memorandum of Agreement between Cavan GAA, Cavan LGFA and Cavan Camogie. The members of this working group consisted of:

Following extensive work and numerous meetings Heads of Agreement were reached and transcribed into the Memorandum of Agreement which was signed in Kingspan Breffni on Friday the 24th May 2024. It is a testament to all members of the working group that Agreement was reached and it clearly reflects the goodwill and good working relationship that exists between the three bodies. Under this new agreement, all three organisations will benefit from access to high-quality facilities and resources, fostering an inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of athletes across Gaelic Football, Hurling, Ladies’ Football, and Camogie.
This memorandum signifies a promising future for Cavan GAA Cavan LGFA and Cavan Camogie communities, highlighting the power of collaboration and shared vision in sport.
Kieran Callaghan, Chairperson of Cavan GAA, stated, “This agreement is a testament to our commitment to providing the best possible environment for all our athletes. By working together with LGFA and the Camogie Association, we can ensure that our facilities are developed to their fullest potential, benefiting the entire GAA community in Cavan.”
Philip Wilson, Chairperson of Cavan LGFA, added, “We are excited about the opportunities this agreement presents. Sharing facilities and resources will not only improve our training and match-day experiences but also build stronger relationships between our organisations, promoting unity and mutual support.”
Shane Woods, Chairperson of Cavan Camogie, commented, “This is a historic day for camogie in Cavan. The enhanced access to facilities and collaborative efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of our sport. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this agreement will have on our players and the wider community.”
