Cavan County Board would like to remember two former officers who passed away recently. John Dowd (Mullahoran) was deeply involved in Cavan Minor Board for a number of years serving as chairman but it was as treasurer of the Scór committee that he is best remembered. For years, John assisted by his wife Ann, attended every Scór competition in Cavan and as treasurer he kept a very steady hand on the finances. He and Ann were friends to many and they were the first people that competitors and supporters met when they arrived at the various venues for the Scór competitions. The Board extends deepest sympathies to his wife Ann, his son Seán, daughter Gemma, grandchildren and extended family.
Pater McGinnity (Drumalee) also passed away recently. Peter served on Cavan Minor Board executive for a number of years and made a lasting contribution as treasurer of the Minor Board executive. He was keenly interested in the GAA and his contributions at meetings were genuine and respected. His work for underage football in Cavan over many years is greatly appreciated. Sincere sympathies are extended to his wife Sadie, his daughters, Emma, Sarah, his son Peter, grandchildren and extended family.
