St. Patrickโs Parochial Hall was built in 1949 and officially opened on Easter Sunday 1950. Over the past 75 years the building has served the village and its environs in many ways. Shercock is the village amid the towns. With no secondary school and no hotel, the hall hosts a very wide range of community activities for all ages. In 2006 the hall was leased from the Diocese by Shercock Killann Rural Development Association and improvements carried out. To honour the memory of the founding fathers further work was carried out this year marking the 75th Anniversary of the building

Formed in 1906, Shercock G.F.C has gone through many phases, sometimes existing on its own, at other times amalgamated with Knockbride, Bailieborough (same parish) and more recently Kingscourt G.F.C.
In 1975 the club was reformed with the following decade bringing considerable success. 1979 bought the club its first ever Junior Championship title, 1983 saw our Senior team play in Division one of Cavan League and in 1984 the Intermediate Championship came to Oโ Hagen Park. The Junior Championship win of 2011 and an Intermediate title in 2017 are fondly recalled. The club has a thriving underage section with our boys and girls teams regularly contesting the higher grades and our Senior team will contest the Cavan ACFL Division One League in 2026.
